Position Overview
Performs a variety of financial-related tasks and responsibilities that involve consolidating and analyzing accounting, financial and business data relevant to performance across the organization. This position includes working alongside different business departments, providing leadership in financial information, tools, analysis, forecasting and insight to help make more informed decisions and drive business strategy.
Essential Job Functions
- Prepare financial reports and perform analysis
- Provide financial analysis to business unit management, partnering to strengthen the performance and planning for the future
- Become a trusted business partner to all business units and executive management
- Analyze differences between actual financial results and forecasts/budgets and explains variations and recommend cost savings ideas
- Support the forecasting and budgeting process; develop forecast models
- Provide meaningful data and monthly trend analysis for the performance measures within retail and operations
- Prepare month-end reporting packages for both financial and operational measurements
- Prepare cost variance analyses across existing business areas
- Prepares forecasts and projections for various business scenarios and develops pro forma financials for use in planning
- Analyzes a variety of financial information needed for special projects or to support financial, investment, operational or strategic planning activities
- Work closely with the CEO, VP of Finance, VP of Operations and VP of Marketing to assist in operational improvements and revenue growth strategies
- Performs all other related duties as designed by management
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Knowledge of financial analysis principles and practices
- Above average excel skills
- Strong analytical skills and able to present/explain data, prepare ad hoc reports, etc.
- Ability to utilize a financial software, systems and office equipment
- Skill in interpreting and analyzing financial information
- Solid communication skills – written and verbal
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships and communicate at all levels within the organization
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand
- Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments and deliver accurate data/information
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, required
- 5 plus years of finance analysis experience, required
- Experience partnering with various departments
- CPA, a plus
